What an eventful day!

Today, I've been flagged down by the police. Ironically, I was driving at my safest. It was around 8:30 in the morning and I was carefully merging with the traffic from North diversion. Technically, I couldn't move from the last lane down to the third (there were 5 lanes I think) because besides the fact that that'll be considered swerving, I couldn't pitch myself in since all the cars and trucks didn't give me the opportunity to shift lanes. So there, because I was on the rightmost lane and wasn't going to the first way up the bridge (but through the second which was only around 50 meters away), this cop flagged me down. He said it was considered swerving (although I found that really ironic since I wasn't shifting lanes.) He asked for my license and I gave it to him without hesitation. Well anyway, here's how the whole conversation went:

MMDA: Magandang Umaga Ma'am. Swerving po kayo.
Me: Ha?
Me: Ahh, sige. *hands him my license*
MMDA: Titicketan ko na kayo ah? Alam nyo ba kung nasaan yung City Hall?
Me: Ahh hindi po, first time ko po nahuli *smiles*
MMDA: Ahh.. Saan po kayo papunta Ma'am?
Me: Papasok na po.
MMDA: Saan po kayo pumapasok?
Me: Sa Ateneo po.
*grins*
Me: Ha? E manong, wala po akong pera...
MMDA: Ahh sige, sa susunod pumasok na kayo agad dun sa gitnang lane ah?
Me: Opo *big smile and leaves*

I don't know if the reason why he let me go was because I looked so hmm-so-what-do-I-do-? or maybe he just wanted his first catch who unfortunately goes out her house without money in her wallet. Moreover, I find this pretty much a beautiful day filled with really helpful people. I wonder if I can still find people like that elsewhere. Special mention the driver in the SM parking lot who helped me park considering there are blind sides from my view and the space was really tight. Furthermore, the waiter in Jumbo Japs took really good care of us (Kaye and me). Besides the fact that he personally served us the right and fixed crunchy sushi that Kaye ordered (originally it didn't have the "crunchy" thingees on it), he even asked us if we wanted to try their new dessert. I told him we may consider it if we weren't full yet after eating the whole meal. We didn't expect it but he actually came back after we finished our food and asked if we wanted it still. It's a good place to eat and stay. They have wonderful service and really good food. Maybe one can also consider it having its own form of entertainment since they have their huge shrimp tempura mascot dancing the 80's in the resto's doorstep. Before leaving the mall, Kaye and I stayed over at Starbucks and [although it isn't much of a surprise] the attendant at the Starbucks counter was extra nice and perky. Makes me feel so welcome in the place [despite the fact that their prices rose P5 more]. Speaking of Starbucks, planner planner!!! Hope they could come up with a smaller one because the ones their offering are heavy considering they are hard-bound.

Marketing
Signed my contract today with Sir Soriano. I have to accomplish at least one of these three:
- Learn figure skating: Be able to do at least one spin in the air and land gracefully on the ice.
- Learn bartending: Be able to do bartending stunts (e.g. throwing bottles in the air and catching them nicely) and make 5 different drink mixes within 10 minutes.
- Do at least two page layouts for Candy or Seventeen Magazine --> To be published.

Each one of us in class has to achieve at least one of those goals we submitted since it consists of 15% our whole Marketing Grade. I'm kind of worried about the first one because I think he really is going to watch me do it LIVE and that may cause me to be excessively nervous and fall unceasingly in the ice (unless of course, I develop my confidence in the process). The second is fine although I think in the process I should be drinking too. Gosh! I wonder what will happen. On the brighter side, in case Sir Soriano plans to watch me do it live, I can make him a good drink or maybe he can also bring his friends so that they can consume all five. The last one is okay too since I've been wanting to do that ever since but I didn't have the guts to do so. Hopefully me doing a layout for one of these magazines would be an asset for them.

Shop shop shop till you drop.

Today, we went to Divisoria with our marketing group for the assigned task due next Saturday. Sir Soriano rules!!! I don't know how he does it, but he's really made a wonderful environment for us to learn not only things related to marketing but to our personal lives as well (e.g. goals that WILL BE achieved). Anyway, going back, Divisoria, i think, will be considered the "shopping haven" for most women because of the wide variety of products offered there. However, I was a little disappointed. I'm not quite sure if it was because I haven't shopped for ages or something... but I found the Divisoria rates highER. Nevertheless, I think the people there still offer good bargain (as comparing the rates to those offered in the malls). Anyway, I'm selling some things, tell me if you're interested :)

Beaded Razorback (White) - Php 260

Beaded Razorback (Pink) - Php 260

Blue Navy White Shirt: Natural Philosophy - Php 120

Blue Navy White Shirt: Flowers - Php 120

Prices are still negotiable :)

Now, we're all tired due to our lack of sleep. Too bad we can't go around and see all the stores. We were "fitness walking" under the pouring rain from the time we left until we arrived back in school. We surely need sleep :p

Interesting (?) Day

Early this morning, there were people who got mad at me at the parking lot. My fault my fault... :-S Retcher and I arrived in school at around 9:30 in the morning (too early for our class) and obviously, by that time, there are almost no parking spaces left especially in the Mateo parking area. As we were moving in the parking lot, at that exact moment, a girl parked in the edge of the row seemed to be on her way to leave. I asked her if she was and she said yes. Siyempre parang Bingo naman pakiramdam ko, napapanic pa ko kasi di ko alam kung aabante ako o aatras. At that time, there was a car behind me and they had to move back because I was blocking the way. Before they drove away, the guy in the passenger seat did some hand language that I can likely interpret as "PI mo!" I just smiled at my side mirror where they can see me, did a peace sign and said sorry continuously, although obviously they couldn't hear me. Oh well, hopefully they won't go back for my car and scratch it badly :o. To those people, (if ever you find this), sorry sorry!!! Hope I didn't cause you to be late.

Moving on, I'm proud of myself today despite my scary morning. I finished reading the first two Philo readings we have. I'm inspired to do so much advanced work so that when the time comes and I can't read anymore, I won't have to worry. Apart from that, I moved to a new seat today because my seat in class was baaaad. Despite the fact that it was really hot in that particular spot, it also made me really uncomfortable to study since that area is quite crowded and our new classroom is really dark for some unknown reason. Well, I moved to the front seat right under the fan although taking that seat with nobody else beside me implied that I'm such a loner in that class. :p Good thing the people behind me are nice. :)

I've been waiting for our History reading since yesterday but until this morning, there still seems to be nothing for us in the reserve section. Hopefully we'll get it in the right time so as to avoid cramming especially now that it's the first week.

Harry Potter's out today!!! Speaking of which, I'm waiting for the paperback version of Book 6. Hope they release it by March so that I can read it over the break.

Blah Blah

It's the first day of school and I arrived before 7am because of color coding. I had to wait for almost 3 hours for my first class. *pout* Anyway, nothing much to write... the sembreak taught me to watch tv again after so many months of not being interested in anything the media shows. Currently, I've been watching Pinoy Big Brother although a lot of people say that it is a non-sense show. :p Oh well, I guess that's quite the point why media exists -- getting you to watch so much of shows that one doesn't even understand why they're watching in the first place. I missed posting :)

Break Wants

One week left and school's starting again. I haven't really had a decent vacation and it was only yesterday that I was able to get out of Metro Manila and go to different areas of Cavite and Laguna. They were, however, business trips, and not really those that I enjoyed. I may have been to different Robinson's malls and bitterly tempted to go shopping but obviously, I can't and not allowed to. *sigh* So many nice things to buy for good bargain :p I think what I experienced yesterday was somehow close to what Area Managers experience, hopping from one store to another, monitoring how things are going. Obviously it was really tiring and thank God I wasn't the one driving. In some areas the traffic will drive you crazy.

Anyway, I think I have to catch up with so many things. I haven't been in any of our dance practices and obviously missed a lot (sorry Kaye and Retcher... :( ), haven't prepared my intended schedule, and... rest. Hopefully I could get my enthusiasm back soon enough so that I would be excited to study. I need that to get me going through the hell sem. :p As of now, I really want to travel. I wanted it so much that I even had a dream one night that I was going to China without any money, nor knowledge as to where I can live. I was on the plane, and funny, I wasn't worrying at all and in that dream, I kinda thought that destiny will bring me to places and bring me back home when the time comes.

10 days to go!!! Harry Potter na!!! I'm excited!!! I'm considering watching it on the opening day *LOL*

I like Cedric's poster better :p

Alone in the Office

It is 4:33 on a Saturday afternoon and I'm still here in the office--alone. I'm waiting for my high school friends to text me the plans they have today because they invited me to Corithians for trick or treat. I wonder if there will still be available goodies later on considering it is already late. But it's okay, as long as I don't tire myself to death or something, I'm alright with it. I'm just a little concerned being here in the office alone because...[halloween season] Maybe the only thing I highly appreciate being here is being able to use the dsl especially now that I do not have an internet card to use at home. Sadly though, I cannot open my blog in this computer. The history is very important to the people here hence I can't clear it once I open my site. *sigh* I don't feel like I'm having a vacation even though the sembreak is one month long. Since I have to work here in the office for nine hours, six days a week, I can hardly find time for myself. It's somehow worse than school because of the following reasons: no one is not allowed to sleep when sleepy, I spend a considerable amount of time driving so that I could lessen our driver's OT, the only break I have is Sunday which is not a sleeping day as well since my family takes the morning mass. The good thing here is, I get to do something and not bore myself, earn money, and not think about homeworks when I go home. Maybe I just feel extra tired because of driving far. No wonder my sister lived away from home before.
